Staff Biography

Carl Montalvo, Field Superintendent

Carl Montalvo focuses on managing small to medium-sized projects for Phoenix Contractors. He excels in coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, with each project often involving multiple crews. On all projects, Carl is dedicated to keeping the work on time and within budget.

Carl began working for Phoenix Contractors in May 2007. In a construction career spanning nearly three decades, he has also served as a carpenter and foreman for Lakeside Interior Contractors, Harrison Construction, and Pro Interior Contractors.

Carl entered the field as a part-time construction crew member with Stone & Seward Construction in 1982. He then apprenticed with the firm in the early ‘90s.

Carl earned a journeyman’s certificate from Carpenter’s Apprenticeship School in Detroit. He has studied professional golf management at Ferris State University, and bidding and estimating at Eastern Michigan University.
