Phoenix Contractors built the downtown Ann Arbor outpost of the always popular Ruth’s Chris Steak House in the building that many long-time residents recall as Maude’s restaurant.

Maude’s closed in 1998 after a 21-year run. From that time, the location saw a series of other restaurants and clubs as short-lived occupants. But now Ruth’s Chris seems here to stay.

To bring the change, we demolished the existing building from the inside out to the exterior, and removed the previous front space for a new two-story entryway into the elegant new interior. Ruth’s Chris Steak House’s own website may describe the result best:

“Situated in the active and charming heart of downtown, Ruth’s Chris Steak House of Ann Arbor offers an inviting setting for business meetings, romance, celebrations, or just an evening out. Groups of nearly any size can experience extraordinary and intimate dining in specialized private dining spaces. Some of our rooms showcase hometown pride with names honoring the nearby University of Michigan. Decorated with art produced by local artists, our Ann Arbor steak house takes full advantage of its locale through use of many fresh, locally sourced ingredients.”
